My work encapsulates life by capturing emotion with the use of bold colors and organic forms. This may come as an emotional response to a song, an outpouring of memory, an interpretation of someone's aura, a swirling sea, or a cosmic vortex in the heavens above. Each piece is an explosion of color that represents the human spirit and our surroundings. My results are achieved by a mixture of experimentation and play. By pouring and manipulating the paint I release a certain energy that can later be felt by the viewer. My work celebrates who we are at the core, our connection to the natural world, and even forces which we sense but cannot see.

Caitlin Dickens was born and raised in Tupelo, MS and has been creating for as long as she can remember. She currently resides in Chattanooga, TN with her husband, newborn baby, two cats, and dog.

“Growing up as an only child, I spent a lot of time immersed in my own thoughts. Because of this, making connections with others vocally has never been my strong suit. I have my own inner dialogue and visual language which I consider my most honest and accurate form of communicating. Troubled with anxiety and depression off and on throughout my life, creating has served as an outlet for release and a way to express and explain myself when words fail me.”
